Tbilisi, Georgia, October 10, 2023 — The Institute of Social Researches (ISR), a trailblazing non-governmental organization based in Georgia, is proud to announce its new partnership with the influential global network, We Are Innovation (WAI). This partnership aims to amplify the voice of innovation and leverage the collective expertise of both organizations to tackle pressing societal issues.
Established a quarter of a century ago by a team of dedicated sociologists and psychologists, the ISR has been instrumental in fostering democratic self-consciousness in society through its social-psychological and sociological endeavors. The Institute’s expertise ranges from conducting comprehensive social and marketing research to data analyses & consultations, organizing impactful training sessions and conferences, and facilitating essential dialogues in various fields.
One of their notable projects in recent years has been focused on reducing tobacco harm in Georgia. This ambitious project has seen the ISR actively cooperating with a myriad of groups, from local doctors and scientists to international specialists, to understand the opportunities and challenges of the tobacco harm reduction strategy both within the Georgian context and the broader international arena. While discussions on the concept of tobacco harm reduction in Georgia are still nascent, ISR’s commitment to openness to new ideas, tolerance towards differences, social justice, and equality ensures that these dialogues will be both informed and inclusive.
