We Are Innovation Partners Up with the Liberalist Centre to Enhance Innovation in Nigeria

Abuja, Nigeria (August 20, 2024) — We Are Innovation is excited to announce its newly established partnership with the Liberalist Centre. This collaboration aims to bring together our shared passions for fostering creativity, embracing new technologies, and driving solutions that make a real difference.

Through this partnership, We Are Innovation and Liberalist Center teams plan to work on technological advancement across Nigeria and the broader African continent. By establishing connections between African partners and WAI’s established global network of partners, the organizations will create new opportunities that can accelerate growth and development in the region, paving the way for a brighter future of innovation in Nigeria and Africa.

Over the last decade, Lagos has emerged as Nigeria’s Silicon Valley and the leading hub of tech innovation in Africa. The city has been the birthplace of numerous groundbreaking tech ventures that have captured global attention. One of the most remarkable stories came in 2021 when Paystack, an online payment platform founded by two Nigerians, was acquired by the American company Stripe for $200 million. What is truly impressive is that Paystack was only founded in 2016, yet in just five years, it grew into a highly successful and valuable company. Paystack is just one example of the many thriving tech startups that began in Lagos and are now making waves worldwide. The city’s vibrant ecosystem of creativity and innovation is drawing international recognition, solidifying its reputation as Africa’s Tech Hub.

Abdullah Tijani, Executive Director of the Liberalist Centre, expresses enthusiasm about the partnership, “We’re thrilled to have this partnership with We Are Innovation. Their commitment to innovation and positive change perfectly aligns with our vision of creating a society where individuals are free and thriving. We can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together.”

Federico N. Fernández, the CEO of We Are Innovation, adds, “This cooperation is a significant step towards unlocking the full potential of technological innovation in Nigeria and across Africa. By bridging the gap between local talent and our global network, we are laying the foundation for transformative growth and sustainable development. We strongly believe that fostering innovation can contribute to a brighter, more prosperous future for all.”

As Nigeria continues to be Africa’s leading tech hub, this cooperation will play a crucial role in shaping the future of innovation, building an environment where creativity and technology can thrive, and contributing to the continent’s overall progress and prosperity. Stay tuned for further updates.
