About the Speakers: 

Manuel Fernández Ordóñez (ESP) holds a degree in Particle Physics and a PhD in Nuclear Physics from the University of Santiago de Compostela. An expert in nuclear energy and energy analyst, he is a science communicator and author of the books Nucleares: Sí, por favor (Deusto) and En busca de la libertad (Gaveta). Currently, he holds the position of Business Development Manager for Radioactive Waste Management and Decommissioning at the Spanish engineering company Tecnatom.

Alberto Lamagna (ARG) is President of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina S.A. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Bologna and a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires. He has held managerial positions at the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA), including the vice presidency between 2016 and 2021. From 2011 to 2023, he founded and led the Laser Uranium Enrichment Group at CNEA. His career includes over 100 scientific publications and seven patents in micro and nanotechnology. Lamagna has directed technological development projects and scientific cooperation at both national and international levels. He has also actively participated in academia as a professor at the University of San Martín and has been an advisor on sensitive technology and technology transfer issues. His experience encompasses executive roles in companies associated with CNEA, such as INVAP and Nucleoeléctrica Argentina.

Carole Nakhle (UK / LBN) is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Crystol Energy, a company at the forefront of global energy consultancy. An internationally recognized authority on energy issues, Dr. Nakhle brings a wealth of expertise to her role, particularly in the areas of policy, finance, market development, governance, energy taxation, and fiscal regimes. Fernando Valdés Benavides (MEX) is an economist and energy specialist with over 7 years of experience in data-driven research for public policy and management consulting. Currently serving as a senior specialist for Bain & Company’s Energy Practice, he has worked extensively on market analysis, energy policies, and sustainability initiatives, collaborating with leading utilities and renewable energy companies. Valdés Benavides holds a master’s degree in political science from the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Guanajuato, bringing a strong academic background to his professional endeavors in the energy sector.
